Originally bought this one for its nice elongated leaves, with the black margins, but I was also pleasantly surprised to see these amazing flowers, with their pretty intense red / copper, purple / pink coloration. Not a huge fan of the smell though....

What a curiosity. Very sensitive to overwatering. Needs to dry off properly between waterings, otherwise just abords new growth, in my experience. So, not super easy to grow, but totally worth it. I just love these very narrow, rigid leaves with the typical dark callistophylla veins. Really stands out in comparison to most other Hoyas.

Did you know that H. obscura Silver, really requires a considerable amount of light to sustain its silver layer? Also, how perfectly does the colour pallete of the inflorescence suit the slightly sunstressed leaves??? It's got a nice scent on top of it. What's not to love?
